Still going strong after 3 years on my boat.

It has been amazing using these calipers the past year. This is my first caliper and it has been extremely useful in measuring the inner diameter, outer diameter, and height of various small objects. It being my first, its given me a degree of accuracy I've never experienced before. It measures all the way down to .01 mm but with not much experience with such small measurements I can say it is at least accurate to .1 mm which is more than small enough for hobbyist level measurements. Measuring height with the rod that comes out the bottom can sometimes be tricky to know if you got the right measurement. Its a lot easier to use the claw ends in that regard. The digital screen is fine in normal light conditions but in shadow you'll need an external light. An on/off light switch for the screen would have been a good additional feature. The battery ran out once but it came with an extra battery in the case, still running on that one. Also comes with a little screwdriver to open the battery case and instructions. You can also switch to inches and inches in fractions which is useful for measurement conversions.

Caliper works well and is extremely accurate. The only complaint I could possibly come up with would be that the thumb wheel and lock knob seem to be a bit flimsy. They secure the calipers well and keep them from moving but they do seem a bit flimsy. Doesn't affect the use of the tool. The ability to see the measurements in various units and with fractions makes it easier to use when you have math problems I do. Overall, it's a great tool and serves it's exact purpose.

I have a confection wrapper from 1948, with quite a number of springs. I had no idea something like this was even available, I stumbled upon it somewhere online. I only know springs as springs, period! Not all of the specific details, ID, OD, width, etc... Using this Caliper my first 2 springs I replaced, were a perfect match! I assume and hope the longevity of the Calipers last quite a long time, so that is why I am only giving a 4 star for now. Too many times I've given 5 stars on amazon items, and within a year or two of little use, they did not last.
